| One of our pre-eminent intellectuals, Bernard Ostry has devoted his life to the development of social and cultural public policy in Canada. Former chair and chief executive officer of TVOntario, this retired public servant has had an important and lasting impact on our society by bringing his unique and creative vision to bear on topics such as broadcasting, multiculturalism, and distance learning. He is a determined leader who has shared his wise counsel, advocacy and experience with cultural, artistic and educational institutions such as the National Ballet School, the International Institute of Communications, and the Royal Ontario Museum. This is a promotion within the Order. |
