Proud of his Atlantic roots, this retired Moncton businessman and Chancellor Emeritus of Dalhousie University continues to work tirelessly to improve the quality of life of all citizens. His integrity, influence and business acumen have enabled him to act as a catalyst to ensure the success of a wide range of projects. He has assisted numerous community organizations with their fundraising campaigns. In particular, as Honorary Campaign Chairman, he has been the driving force behind the YMCA of Greater Moncton's financial success. In addition, the 1999 Sommet de la Francophonie, hosted by New Brunswick, greatly benefited from his skills and dedication.

This is a promotion within the Order.

This successful New Brunswick businessman has continued to contribute to the Canadian economy and to devote time and energy to charitable endeavours in his community. Currently Chancellor of Dalhousie University, he is committed to the cause of higher education and has helped establish a scholarship and lecture series at the University of New Brunswick in memory of an outstanding professor and human rights advocate. Jurist and business man, whose concern for his native city of Moncton has led him to devote more than thirty years to community endeavours, particularly as president of fund-raising campaigns for the new hospital and its modern neuro-surgical equipment.
