October 8, 2009

OTTAWA—Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, will host a ceremony at Rideau Hall that will focus on the history and legacy of the Indian Residential Schools, on Thursday, October 15, 2009, at 1:00 p.m.

Upon the request of the chair and commissioners of the Indian Residential Schools Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC), the Governor General accepted to be the honorary witness to this event.
