Spirit of Place: BC Young Artists

The Office of the Governor General in association with the Emily Carr University of Art & Design, is proud to host, at Rideau Hall, the work of 15 young artists from across British-Columbia. This exhibition is presented as part of the biennial regional festival BC Scene, and will be on display at Rideau Hall from March 25th to September 27th 2009.

Under the mentorship of senior artists and alumni of ECUAD, the youths-aged 6 to 16- have created works that reflect the characteristic, spaces and spirit of their regions, along with the pillar themes of the Olympic: culture, sport and environment.

Through imagination and art, this project links young people in Canada and other part of the world and the 2010 Winter Olympics Games.

This exhibition is possible through the ongoing efforts of the Emily Carr University of Art + Design, Arts Umbrella and Save the Children Canada.
