Winter at Rideau Hall

Whether you have come to skate, or to walk the snow-covered paths, the historic grounds of Rideau Hall are a great place to enjoy winter. Explore this picturesque site where the governor general lives and works.

• Bring along your skates and have fun on the outdoor rink
• Take in the sites of winter while walking the grounds
• Visit the State Rooms of the residence where important events have taken place since Confederation
• Discover the unique collection of Canadian art and furniture, showcasing the diversity of Canada.

2009 visiting hours for the public tours of the Residence

• January to April: by reservation only
• May 2 to June 28: Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• June 29 to September 7: Daily, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (self-guided tours) and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. (guided tours)
• September 8 to October 25: Saturdays and Sundays from 12 noon to 4 p.m.

Tours are offered on statutory holidays from May to October.
For other times of the year, please call ahead for reservations.
